LABORATORY OF OENOLOGY AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES – AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS

The Oenology Laboratory of the Agricultural University of Athens, was established in July 2015 and serves educational and research needs in wine technology and microbiology, grape and wine chemical composition, and wine & spirits bottling, preservation and aging processes. The staffing of the wine industry with suitable executives, but also the help in solving the wine problems is the main goal of this Laboratory. The Laboratory also collaborates with wine companies who wish to experiment with Greek varieties. Also, it actively participates in the formation of the wine strategy of the country and of the various regions, and prepares research proposals. The facilities of the Laboratory include: a research laboratory, an organoleptic control room and an experimental winery.
